# GPT-6 Sol and Luna Are Live at Half the Previous Price

> OpenAI's gpt-6-sol and gpt-6-luna, released 22 September, are now live on APIYI in the default, svip and CodexResponses groups. Sol costs 2 USD input and 10 USD output, Luna 0.10 USD input and 0.50 USD output per 1M tokens, about half of the 5.6 generation and permanent, cut on the same day as Claude Opus 5.5. Both Chat and Responses endpoints, including function calling, passed our tests.

🚀 **`gpt-6-sol` and `gpt-6-luna` are live at half the previous generation's price**

On 22 September OpenAI filled in the mid and light tiers of the GPT-6 family, and says these are permanent prices, not a limited-time promotion. The same day, Anthropic released Claude Opus 5.5 at a lower price too; with both providers cutting at once, developers and users benefit directly.

Pricing per 1M tokens (all four items match the provider):

* `gpt-6-sol`: \$2 input / \$10 output / \$0.20 cache read, down from \$4 / \$20 for `gpt-5.6-sol`
* `gpt-6-luna`: \$0.10 input / \$0.50 output / \$0.01 cache read, down from \$0.20 / \$1.20 for `gpt-5.6-luna`

Available in the `default` / `svip` / `CodexResponses` groups. In our launch-day tests, both `/v1/chat/completions` and `/v1/responses` passed, and the Chat endpoint accepts function tools too, so migrating from 5.6 is a model-name change.
