# New FAQ: Large Images Never Arrive Over a Direct Connection

> New FAQ: when a program bypasses the proxy and connects directly, 1K/2K images work but 4K images hang with no error, and the call log shows write_response_body_failed with no charge. The direct line cannot carry responses of tens of MB; route image requests through the proxy or turn on TUN mode.

📖 **New FAQ: what to do when 4K images never arrive over a direct connection**

When your program bypasses the proxy and connects to APIYI directly, 1K/2K images work, but 4K images keep waiting with no error at all; the call log shows `write_response_body_failed` for those requests, with no charge. Your direct line cannot carry responses of tens of MB; route image requests through the proxy (or turn on TUN mode).

This is the opposite of "image calls drop after about 90 seconds behind a proxy". The two pages now link to each other, and the comparison test in the FAQ tells you which route suits you.
