2026/8/30 11:33 (UTC+8) · Price Update · ByteDance 💸 Seedance 2.5 moves to its own SeeDance25 group, with pricing aligned to the official generation gap The reason is that Volcengine prices the two generations differently — 2.5’s token rate is about 1.5x 2.0’s — so the two have to be billed on separate groups. SeeDance25 runs at 0.27x and appears as SeeDance2.5 in the console’s token settings. Groups and prices for the four 2.0-family models are unaffected. A token calling doubao-seedance-2-5-260628 needs the SeeDance25 group enabled, otherwise it fails with “no available channel for this model”. To use both generations, enable SeeDance25 and SeeDance2 on the same token — one Key then reaches all four models, and the model name, endpoint, request shape, and your code all stay as they are. Measured prices after the change ($12.42 per million tokens for 480p / 720p, $13.77 for 1080p):
  • 720p / 5s: $1.3525 (was $0.9017)
  • 480p / 5s: $0.6016 (was $0.4011)
  • 1080p / 5s: $3.3740 (was $2.2493)
  • 720p / 30s: $8.0593 (was $5.3729)
Against $0.9074 for 720p/5s on the 2.0 standard model, 2.5 runs about 1.5x higher — matching the gap in Volcengine’s own list prices, not an APIYI markup. If 1080p is all you need, the 2.0 standard model already supports it; go to 2.5 for 30-second clips, more than 9 reference images, mov output, or video editing / extension. If both generations can later be priced separately inside one group, 2.5 will be merged back into SeeDance2, announced in advance — and again, the only change would be ticking a group on your token. Full group notes and pricing tables are on the Seedance overview.
